2022 Accomplishments
We created the
Promise to Be Purple, 8 things you can commit to do that will help make this country a better place.
We rated each member of the Senate and House of Representatives on how well they work across party lines.
We highlighted 49 areas of Common Ground, where Republicans, Democrats, and Independents agree.
We started a new topic called Purple Moments, where Republicans and Democrats work together.
We rated and also updated our ratings of news sources - including broadcast news, print news, and news commentary, so you can know where to get credible, unbiased news.
We rated the most competitive 2022 Senate Races according to the truth of their statements.
We opened our shop so you can help us spread the message of Let's Be Purple by buying (and wearing or displaying) our products. We also priced all products at our costs for the item, shipping, and transaction fees with no profit margin.
2022 Financial Report
Let's Be Purple's Expenses in 2022 were $5,960. Of this amount, $170 (3%) was spent on administration, $4,340 (73%) on promotion of the message of Let's Be Purple, and the remaining $1,450 (24%) was spent on research. These figures do not assign a value to volunteer hours.
2023 Outlook
Partisanship is as strong as ever. Some have even suggested to split the U.S. into two countries: one of red states and another of blue states. Congress is split with Republicans controlling the House and Democrats controlling the Senate. The 2024 Presidential race has already begun, and we expect partisanship to get nasty as the election gets closer. 2023 is the year to build momentum for Let's Be Purple and present a positive message for people to rally around, setting expectations that people need to work together for our country.
